With Covid 19 taking over the media, it would appear as if it's the only illness that exists these days. The corona virus pandemic has hindered progress in fighting HIV worldwide, with public health resources redirected toward COVID-19 and millions of people struggling to access care. Testing for HIV and Aids has dropped nearly 90% in most clinics over the past four months. Although we no longer hear about HIV/AIDS, it is still very prevalent, especially in the black community. During this episode, The 1 talks with Mrs. Michele Boyd, the founder and CEO of Bring On Your Dreams - An organization that provides emergency assistance and supportive services for women living with HIV/AIDS, and she shares with us just how HIV/AIDS epidemic is still thriving in black communities, especially among our teens.
